Zontes triple-cylinder engine in the works, will rival Triumph, MV Agusta and Yamaha

Chinese two-wheeler manufacturer, Zontes Motorcycles, has been working on its upcoming three-cylinder engine. Details for the same are now out and here’s what you should know.

Considering the current three-cylinder offerings in the two-wheeler market and leaked details, Zontes could be working on an 800cc liquid-cooled motor. Further, the leaked details also reveal that output could be around 100bhp. Currently, Triumph, Yamaha, and MV Agusta are quite popular for their in-line three-cylinder motors.

Thanks to Zontes’ ties with Adishwar Auto Ride India (AARI), the Chinese two-wheeler brand is set to make its India debut very soon. The lineup will include five offerings: 350R (naked), 350X (sports tourer), GK350 (cafe racer), 350T ADV, and 350T (tourer). All the models will be equipped with a 348cc single-cylinder liquid-cooled motor. Its output will be rated at 37bhp and 32Nm.

Lastly, the only two-wheeler brand to currently offer three-cylinder engines in India is Triumph with its Tiger, Rocket, Street Triple and Speed Triple lineup. Head here to read our review of the Tiger Sport 660.
