The new-gen Honda WR-V has been unveiled for the Indonesian market and is expected to be introduced in India in 2023.
Performance
The Honda WR-V is likely to be powered by a 1.5-litre petrol engine that will be tuned to produce 89bhp and 110Nm of torque. The motor could be mated to a five-speed manual and a CVT unit.
Features
The 2023 Honda WR-V will be a step up from the current model and will sport SUV-live design and styling. The front is dominated by the chrome-stud front grille and LED headlamps with integrated LED DRLs. The front bumper will be re-profiled to house the new casing for the LED fog lamps whereas the alloys will receive a new design. The chunky plastic cladding on the wheel arches gives it a beefier look while the C-pillar-mounted door handle is a unique placement. Other elements include split LED tail lamps, a rear wiper, and a silver skid plate.
The cabin of the Honda WR-V looks familiar to the India-spec Amaze but instead follows a full-black theme with red highlights on door pads, dashboard, and steering wheel. The features on offer include a seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system, leatherette upholstery, automatic climate control, and a rear-view camera.
However, the highlight remains the suite of ADAS functions – ‘Honda Sensing’ that includes lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, a blind-spot monitor, collision mitigation braking system, and high-beam assist.
Price
When launched in India, the new Honda WR-V is expected to be priced between Rs 9-13 lakh (ex-showroom).
Rivals
The new Honda WR-V will rival the Nissan Magnite, Renault Kiger, Kia Sonet, Tata Nexon, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
