Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 launch in India in January 2023

By Auto Today: Royal Enfield will launch the all-new Super Meteor 650 in India in January 2023. The Super Meteor 650 will be the mid-size motorcycle segment (250cc-750cc) leader’s most expensive model in India and positioned above the Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor 650. The Super Meteor 650 made its global debut at the EICMA 2022 in Milan, Italy. It was recently showcased in India at Royal Enfield Rider Mania 2022, which took place in Goa.

The Super Meteor 650 price in India can be close to Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It will be available in standard and tourer variants. Among its prominent features are LED headlamp and indicators, turn-by-turn navigation, wide pulled-back handlebars, redesigned engine covers, low scalloped seat and fully feet-forward foot controls.

Created in collaboration with Harris Performance, the Super Meteor 650 uses the 648cc, parallel twin, 4-stroke, SOHC, air-oil cooled, EFI engine, which does duty in the Continental GT 650 and the Interceptor 650 as well. The engine develops 47PS of maximum power and 52.3Nm of peak torque, and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

The Super Meteor 650 sits on a steel tubular spine frame. The suspension duties are performed by USD forks at the front and preload-adjustable twin shocks at the rear. The motorcycle has a disc each at the front (320mm) and rear (300mm). Also available is dual-channel ABS. There are alloy wheels shod with a tubeless 100/90 19 M/C 57H tyre at the front and a tubeless 150/80 B16 M/C 71H at the rear.

The Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 gets seven colour options in all. The standard variant has five — Astral Black, Astral Blue, Astral Green, Interstellar Grey and Interstellar Green. The Tourer variant has two — Celestial Red and Celestial Blue.
