The XUV700 and Scorpio-N SUVs have been recalled by Mahindra & Mahindra to inspect the rubber bellow inside the bell housing. 12,566 units of the Mahindra XUV700 manual transmission versions and 6,618 units of the Mahindra Scorpio-N manual transmission versions will be impacted by the decision.

The automaker stated that the supplier’s sorting issue may have had a bearing on the operating dimensional clearance of the rubber bellow inside the bell housing. The process of inspection and rectification is free of charge. According to the note issued by the firm, Mahindra dealerships have already started reaching out to owners regarding the same.

A 2.2-litre mHawk turbocharged diesel engine, available with both a 6-speed manual and a torque converter automatic transmission, powers both the Mahindra XUV700 and Scorpio-N. Mahindra has assured that the problem will be resolved in a quick and hassle-free manner for customers who are impacted by this recall.

This is the very first recall for the Mahindra Scorpio-N, which has gained popularity since its debut and boasts a waiting period of up to two years. Mahindra has initiated 4 recalls so far in 2022. The first XUV700 AWD model recall was announced in July due to a critical service action. The Thar and the XUV700 were recalled later in September due to probable turbocharger concerns. A few days ago, the XUV700 was again recalled due to sound issues in the suspension.
