Market introduction:
The Volvo XC40 Recharge will be launched in India in early 2022.
Engine and specification:
Propelling the Volvo XC40 Recharge will be a 78kWh battery pack that will power two electric motors, producing a combined power output of 402bhp and 660Nm of torque. The model is claimed to deliver a range of 418kms on a full charge as per the WLTP cycle. The SUV can sprint from 0-100kmph in 4.9 seconds, all the way up to a top speed of 180kmph.
Exterior design:
Compared to the ICE-powered XC40, the Recharge variant features a blanked-out front grille finished in the body colour, and sporting the Volvo logo. The charging point too remains in the same position, behind the fuel filler cap. A few notable features of the model include LED headlamps, vertically-positioned LED tail lights, a black cladding on the front and rear bumpers, and a dual-tone paintjob.
Interior and features:
The interiors of the Volvo XC40 Recharge will come equipped with a new nine-inch Android-based touchscreen infotainment system with OTA updates, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, four USB Type-C ports, and a fully digital instrument cluster.
Seating capacity:
The Volvo XC40 Recharge will have a seating capacity of five occupants.
